Our final project at SCAD. It took a lot of hard work but thanks to everyone we are able to finally show off our project. I am incredibly proud of everyone who helped to make this vision come true.

Sabotaur 66 Raygun

Sabotaur 66 Raygun

A raygun based on a model from Weta Workshop's Saboteur 66 from the Dr.Grordbort lineup.

Fancy Chair

Fancy Chair

A chair sculpted in Zbrush and rendered in substance painter.

This hero asset gave me the opportunity to explore asset creation for real time rendering. I created the hero asset with simple box modeling and used normal maps for the high detail patterns.

Redshift Chisels

Redshift Chisels

This was my first experience using the fairly new Redshift software. I created a simple object and used Redshifts’s materials and procedural nodes to build most of the shaders.

Cursed Sword

Cursed Sword

A cursed sword wielded by my DnD character.

Floating Rocks

Floating Rocks

Another Houdini project, I was able to see how easily Houdini could handle large amounts of geometry. Each blade of grass is roughly 10-12 faces and each rock contains tens of thousands of faces each. The combination of Houdini and Redshift made for quick renders, even with all the polygons.

Everything and The Kitchen Sink

Everything and The Kitchen Sink

Using Pixar’s kitchen sink challenge, I textured and lit the entire scene. Using Renderman provided an opportunity to explore with another renderer’s materials. Some of the larger objects were projections painted while the smaller objects were driven using procedural materials.

Cheese Plate

Cheese Plate

This was meant for exploring textures within Arnold. I modeled everything and then used materials to tweak subsurface and other attributes in order to best match how the object would look in real life.

Benchy in rough seas

Benchy in rough seas

I saw Blenders ocean modifier for making large, open oceans and wanted to give it a try. The boat is a benchmark for testing the quality of 3d printers. I have this exact one sitting on my desk now.

Cube World

Cube World

Testing some of Blender’s procedural tools and complete pipeline workflow for full CG.

Morning Coffee

Morning Coffee

Just a still from messing with Blenders smoke systems. Pretty cool.

RIB File Teapot

RIB File Teapot

For this project I hand wrote the rib file read by Renderman using simple geometry to create the teapot. Some textures were referenced in from images to provide further detail.
